![]() I’ve been a paid personal account user for years and years. I have no idea how Untappd is doing, but this seems to me to be bad business. Didn’t once express that the concerns make sense. Ultimately the supervisor was unmoved by the clear way this will damage our business, the CLOSED listing. The supervisor didn’t even know that had happened. Only then did they get me in touch with a supervisor.Īs a result of my persistent communication, they bent the rules for me, they said, and moved my historical date to the new venue. I emailed the neck out of them, started scheduling phone calls. The name change difficulties is more important than menus, so when I came up against staff not knowing how things worked, speaking to people who didn’t have the authority to help, and plenty of ‘how was the support you received?’ emails, I got persistent yesterday. I tried sticking with them, but ultimately decided to jump ship and use Beermenus for our menus (including digital displays). A few months ago, I got a bunch of information from them regarding paid services that turned out not to be true. Staff doesn’t really know how their paid services work. Untappd Support was bad, as has been the case more and more in recent years. Untappd support tried telling me that the public facing data was still there, and that was, I guess, good enough? It’s worth noting that changing your name also means you lose the history of data at your venue. We have been paying for Untappd for years, considering it an important part of our online presence. ![]() So maybe, maybe if you’re not paying, the changes you make to your Foursquare and Yelp and Googlemaps listings will automatically update your Untappd venue. Untappd support said they were not paid members. I’ve noticed several breweries that changed their names and managed to keep their venue listed as open, with a name change occurring. So this is a caution to the very few of you that may change your name in the future. We didn’t move the brewery, so now there is a listing of us on Untappd with our old name that we used for 7 years, at the address where we have brewed and served for 4 years, and it is marked as CLOSED.Īs much as I like to think that customers will notice our social media posts, and visit regularly and see the changes in person, the truth is that most people aren’t paying attention like that. ![]() They marked our venue as CLOSED and started a new venue for us with the new name.
